Dr. Susan Longest will present a program about the effect climate change is having on North American bird populations. Longest, assistant professor of biology at Colorado Mesa University, will speak at 7 p.m. Thursday, February 25, at the Bill Heddles Recreation Center. Her findings indicate that many birds in North America have shifted winter breeding ranges northward because of increasing temperatures and are arriving at spring breeding grounds earlier. The public is invited and there is no charge to attend.
