Miner was formed in 2013 around husband & wife Justin and Kate Miner, along with Justin’s brother Jeremy Miner. Their debut album Into The Morning (2014) blended sunny California harmonies and traditional folk instruments with anthemic choruses and introspective lyrics. Behind the success of singles “Hey Love” and “Carousel” they established their place in the indie-folk revival scene and built the band into a national touring act. For their follow-up record, Tuanaki, the band traveled to Seattle to record with producer Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, The Shins, Modest Mouse, Band of Horses). The album finds Miner further establishing their singular aesthetic and expanding their sonic palette, while still retaining their California folk roots. Tuanaki is named after an island in the South Pacific that was discovered in the 19th century, which then subsequently disappeared when sailors attempted to return. The album is hot off the press (released on February 26, 2016) and will fill the Paradise with infectious dance grooves.
